Bedrock Wine Co.

Saturday we hopped in the car for a wine pick up. It use to be the UPS or Fedex guy’s job to deliver it to us. Now, living in the heart of wine country, we get the chance to make it a pretty regular outing to drive through exceptional countryside, pick up our seasonal allocations, and often enjoy a tasting with owners and winemakers.

Bedrock Wine Co. schedules pick ups at their home in the town of Sonoma. The nicest part of going there is having the opportunity to taste with owner and winemaker Morgan Twain-Peterson and partner Chris Cottrell. The conversation is eclectic and totally energized by the enthusiasm and passion these guys share for what they do.

There is a wonderful story about these two and behind the making of these extremely fine field blend wines. A visit to their website will begin to fill you in – bedrockwineco.com. It’s a very well done site!

They are unquestionably good caretakers of the land and now too of its historic fabric. This past year they opened their tasting room on the square in Sonoma in the historic landmark Joseph Hooker House.

Several things worth mentioning – The tasting room, because of its size, is by appointment. Bedrock does not have a wine club. They DO have a mailing list. I’m grateful that John joined their list in 2010 so we have enjoyed their wines beginning with the 2008’s.

After returning home it seemed only fitting to share with dinner a bottle of Bedrock’s 2017 Dolinsek Ranch Heritage.

Thank you Morgan and Chris for a fun visit!

Sauld!
