97 Points! The Wine Spectator announced the PEARL as the HIGHEST RATED ZIN EVER!

After the sale of Seghesio Winery in 2011 Peter Seghesio and family have truly been busy. While a non-compete agreement kept him from producing Zinfandel wine, they began production of Chardonnay under the Journeyman label in 2013. It rated 93 points. It has become a favorite of ours.

After the non-compete restriction expired Seghesio began releasing two Zinfandels: San Lorenzo Zinfandel Alexander Valley Rock Garden and San Lorenzo The Pearl Old Vine Alexander Valley. The grapes come from some of the oldest grown in the valley – the historic San Lorenzo Vineyard dating back to 1896. The first two vintages, 2014 and 2015, won high scores and the 2016 releases scored a Wine Spectator 97 for The Pearl and 94 for Rock Garden.
Peter and his family not only produce excellent wines they also established a meat production plant in Cloverdale and opened a retail shop in downtown Healdsburg – Journeyman Meat Co. in 2017. A trip there is a must to pick up your wines and to taste.
