In 2015 Comstock Wines opened its doors on a 17 acre site along Dry Creek Road. Kelly Comstock Ferris is the General Manager and Chris Russi the winemaker. Together they have created a wonderful array of experiences with great wines.

The tasting room is expansive offering both indoor and outdoor tastings. There is a bocce court for those who require more than wine and a fabulous view.

Comstock produces Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and Chardonnay wines so you need a large array of glasses to get through a tasting!

What is truly special is the winery has its own, talented Chef!

Jude is their executive chef who is creating outstanding Mezze plates to compliment Comstock wines. On certain days he offers a grilled cheese flight that is extremely popular. Our Mezze Platter included a Crostini with house-made Bacon and Carmelized Onion Jam and Dolmas among other unique and delicious items.

Madeline Fuss was our vivacious host for the afternoon. We had a wonderful time with her learning so much about Comstock, the wines and the variety of experiences and events they offer.

We sampled nearly every wine on their current tasting menu – possibly too many! Each was terrific making it difficult to narrow in on favorites. What’s more, the price point of their wines is reasonable so it’s easy to get carried away on a purchase.

We did choose a few to take with us. The 2018 Sonoma Valley Grenache, 2018 Old Vine Dry Creek Zinfandel, 2018 Bennett Valley Syrah, and the 2016 Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
