We took a little trip over to Napa for a first time visit to Anderson Conn Valley Vineyards.

Our visit was during a region wide power shutoff so our tasting was held on their lawn rather than in their very dark wine cave. Harvest was well underway and we were the only visitors early that day.
Our host, Tom started us off with Rosé and a Sauvignon Blanc followed by some amazing reds. In the midst of our tasting owner/winemaker Todd Anderson joined us and the reds just kept coming open – Right Bank, Signature, Jygantor…….

It was fascinating to hear Todd’s insight into his wines and learn about his newer vineyard and wine – Ghost Horse as well as his son Michael’s success as a winemaker in his own right – MTGA .

Incidently, while we there Michael Anderson stopped in with some of his wine in tow. He was kind enough to let us try his as well. MTGA is a small producer, around 1000 cases, founded in 2010.

The visit to Anderson Conn Valley was terrific even without the cave tour/tasting. Many, many thanks to our host Tom and to Todd Anderson for spending so much time making our visit quite special.
Salud!
