Sojourn Cellars tasting room is just a block off Sonoma’s Square next to a favorite restaurant – Edge. Situated in an old house, the tasting room is intimate and comfortable. We were there for an afternoon appointment, interested specifically in trying their Pinot Noirs. Jennifer, Sojourn’s Senior Wine Specialist,was our terrific host.

We started off with a taste of Sojourn’s newest addition to their wine portfolio – their Brut Sparkling Wine, and followed it with a side by side tasting of the 2020 Chardonnay Reuling Vineyard and the Durell Vineyard. Both are Sonoma Coast wines.

We moved on to the Pinot Noirs Sojourn is so noted for, beginning with a Russian River 2021 Wohler Vineyard. I thought it was going to be my favorite of the tasting until we tried a Sonoma Coast Pinot – the 2021 Gap’s Crown Vineyard. Both very different, both exceptional. We couldn’t choose a favorite. We went home with both!

Our final tasting was the 2019 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley. A true, rich Napa Cab!

Sojourn is creating approachable wines. like many California wineries, that you can drink on release or lay down for years. They are site specific wines that continually rate the high scores. They are special!
