Located on Highway 12 in the village of Kenwood is Hamilton Family Wines. It’s relatively new to Kenwood.

It’s the love of Greg & Lindsay Hamilton, a young couple who are making their dream come true – making wine. They’re definitely a very small producer. The most of any one wine they are making is 175 cases.

After some major renovations to a former tasting room and grounds, they opened offering indoor and outdoor garden locations for tastings.

Greg had us set up for an outside tasting in the garden and started us off with a glass of 2018 Indian Springs Ranch Sauvignon Blanc. We tasted a second Sauvignon Blanc, a 2021 Hi-Vista Vineyard Sonoma Valley and the 2021 Estate Grown Sonoma Valley Rosé of Grenache.

As we transitioned into reds we started with their 2018 Placida Vineyard Russian River Pinot Noir. A 2018 Maus Vineyard Moon mountain GSM followed and our final wine was the 2019 Phoenix Sonoma Valley. It was easy to go home with some Rosé, GSM, and The Phoenix.

Congratulations and thank you Greg & Lindsay for your warm hospitality and lovely wines. We will surely be back!
Salud!
It’s so nice to see another “family” winery on JWC. Looks like a fine visit next time we’re in Sonoma. Thank you for your continuing explorations into the better things in life.
