I’m a sucker for quaint, vintage architecture, especially when it’s poised in beautiful gardens and vineyards. We found exactly that at Blue Farm. While it was the wine that brought us here, the fabulous property was a surprise bonus.

Anne Moller-Racke is the amazing woman behind the wine. She founded Donum and brought it to the world class level it is today before planting 7 acres (the Anne Katherina Vineyard) in 2001 in the Carneros region along side a historic Victorian farmhouse.

Her wines are Burgundian grand cru style created from 5 different Sonoma County AVAs. They are, without question, stand out Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines.

The pump house has been converted into Blue Farm’s tasting room but the morning we visited the weather was so perfect we tasted outdoors. Amie Grimes graciously hosted us.

We started off with a 2021 Rose of Pinot Noir and followed it with three 2020 Anne Katherina Vineyard, Carneros AVA wines – the Chardonnay, the Riverbed Pinot Noir, and the Anne Katherina Vineyard Pinot Noir. Lastly we tried the 2020 Gap’s Crown Vineyard, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and the King Ridge, Fort Ross-Seaview Pinot Noir.

The property was lovely to tour. We walked through a beautiful field of roses, past old fruit trees and of course walked into the vines finding the grapes well into verasion.
