Patz & Hall

Just east of downtown Sonoma along 8th Street you’ll find Patz & Hall. It’s a stunning facility with a tasting bar and indoor and outdoor casual seating.

Single-vineyard, limited-production Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines are what Patz & Hall are all about. They have established exceptional relationships with some of the best growers throughout the region and the Central Coast enabling them to create some very spectacular wines.

We started off our tasting with a side by side of their 2015 Sonoma Coast Rose Sparkling & the 2013 North Coast Blanc de Blanc Sparkling. While some in our party preferred the Blanc de Blanc, the Sparkling Rose was easily my favorite but both were quite fantastic.

We moved into the Chardonnays and on into the Pinot Noirs which we were anxious to try. Our host Michelle read us well and brought out some additional Pinots which were amazing and made it all the more difficult to choose what to take home with us. The Gap’s Crown Vineyard and the Pisoni Vineyard Pinot Noirs were delicious. Actually, they were all delicious – truly fine wines!

In the end we selected the 2018 Soberanes Chardonnay, the 2017 Gap’s Crown Vineyard Pinot Noir, the 2018 Pisoni Vinyard Pinot Noir and a bottle of the Sparkling 2015 Sonoma Coast Rose to take with us.

I recommend a trip to their website. It’s a great site and it includes a list of their wine growers. It’s a list of “Who’s Who” in the grape wine business for sure! And….if you are planning to spend time in and around the town of Sonoma, you should definitely include Patz & Hall in your itinerary.

Thank you so very much Michelle for such a fun, relaxing tasting!

Salud!
