Dinner at Skipstone

We had the pleasure of being invited to a private dinner at the Skiptone Estate just outside of Geyserville. Patricia Smith was our host and met us with a pouring of Skipstone’s Rose de Constance Champagne. It’s produced in conjunction with Diebolt-Vallois and named after Skipstone’s owner’s wife.

We had never been to Skipstone so this was a treat! A long private lane brings you to the Estate winery just outside of Geyserville. It’s quite a beautiful site even after a close call with the fires. It’s tucked into the hills with extensive vineyards, with a happy, thriving vegetable garden and a great stone pavilion for small events, as well as a private residence on the estate.

Chef Alycia of Vine Dining created and served an insanely fantastic dinner. From the hors d’oeuvres served with the Brut Champagne, each course was beautifully paired with Skipstone’s wines.

The 2018 Viognier was lovely, and my favorite red that evening was the 2018 Malbec.

The dessert – Ruby Chocolate Pot de Creme was soooooo delicious and paired with Skipstone’s 2015 Oliver’s Blend made it even better!

Thank you to Michael & Susan for inviting us!

Salud!
