Who would have expected to find wineries in Idaho!  Well, I guess, I mean established wineries and good wines we would enjoy.  We had little time to visit so the list is short but here are two we happily consumed….

2006 SGM Syrah, Grenache, Mouvedre – Snake River Winery

2008 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon – Sawtooth Winery

A side note: If you find yourself in Boise there are tasting rooms downtown and on Saturdays they have an incredibly good, big, cool, farmers market with a vendor who makes tiny delicious donuts right there and wineries and cheese makers participating!  It is kinda strange trying wines at 10 am.  I know, I know some of you have witnessed me doing  this in Sonoma but still, right after breakfast takes some measure of talent!

There is also a sensational Coop market and wine store worthy of visiting in downtown Boise.
